
Salma Hayek Pinault, born Salma Valgarma Hayek-Jamesenez on September 2, 1966 is an American and Mexican actress and producer. Her career began in Mexico by playing a lead role in the Telenovela Teresa (1989-1991) as and the romantic drama El Callejon de los Milagros (1995), for which she received an Ariel Award nomination. From Dusk till Dawn (1996), Wild Wild West (1999), Dogma (1999) and Desperado (1995) are just some of her numerous Hollywood credits. Hayek's portrayal of painter Frida Kahlo in the biographical film Frida (2002) which she also produced she became the first Mexican actress to be nominated to the Academy Award for Best Actress[6Additionally, she was awarded the Golden Globe Award, Screen Actors Guild Award and British Academy Film Award nominations. Hayek continued to make films as well as starring in action pictures Once Upon a Time in Mexico later on in her career.
