Ani Difranco
Angela Maria Ani DiFranco (born Angela Maria Ani DiFranco) is an American as well as a Canadian musician and singer. Her albums span over 20 years. Her music is classified as folk and alternative rock but also has elements of punk, funk, hip music and jazz. Ani DiFranco is widely recognized as an icon of women's rights, and Grammy-winning artist is considered the creator in DIY music. She was among the first musicians to start the label she created in 1990. DiFranco was the child of Elizabeth (Ross), and Dante Americo DiFranco. They met at The Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Her father was of Italian roots and her mother was a Montreal native. Ani's song, 32 Flavors was composed by her, and performed by Ani. The track is available on the album Not a Pretty Girl by Ani diFranco. It was that was released in 1996. On the soundtrack of 1999's Canadian romantic film Better Than Chocolate is a variation of this song. DiFranco apologized in 2013 after it was revealed that she was planning to hold a three day workshop at the Louisiana slave plantation.
