Ashley Madekwe and Ashley Leggat
Madekwe is a child of the mixed race family of South London in England. She's English as well as her father is Nigerian. She was born in the southern part of London Council Estate and attended The Brit School aged 14. It was the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art is where she obtained a BA degree in acting. She was a part of various performances on stage during her college days, such as the stage productions King Henry V and Wuthering Heights.
Madekwe started her career as an actress in the movie Storm Damage. Since then, she has appeared in Teachers, Doctors Casualty and Drop Dead Gorgeous. Her first role in a film was in Woody Allen's 2007 Cassandra's Dream opposite Colin Farrell, Ewan McGregor. Her success led her to play Elisha as a one-off BBC Three drama West 10 LDN pilot, then appear in six episodes Trexx & Flipside playing the character of Ollie. The ITV2 series Secret Diary of a Call Girl was her first appearance in 2008 as Bambi. Madekwe made an appearance in the Comedy film How to Lose Friends & Alienate People. Theatre credits for Madekwe include Little Sweet Thing and Flight Path.
Madekwe made her debut in the US in the US with The Beautiful Life. The drama show aired on The CW for only two episodes, but it was ended. She was cast in February 2011 in the role of Ashley Davenport on the ABC drama Revenge. After being a regular for the initial two seasons the show was announced late May 2013 that Madekwe was set to quit the show following an appearance as a guest in the pilot episode in the season's third. Madekwe starred as Tituba in the television series Salem from 2014 to 2016. From June to July 2012, the actress was married to her long-time love, actor Iddo Goldberg. They collaborated on Secret Diary of a Call Girl. He was also a part of the cast with her on Salem.
Ashley Leggat, an actress nominated twice for the Gemini Award, is a member of the large Hamilton family. She was raised by both parents Roy and Patty together with four of their older brothers: Brett, Todd and Bram twins, Rob, and Brett. Ashley's sports brothers were avid baseball players during the summer months and hockey in the winter. Ashley could never walk, however she did dance. As she was two and a half, she started Baby Ballet and fell in love. That was the start of Ashley's love for dancing. Ashley continued to dance competitively throughout high school with top divisions like ballet, tap, Jazz and Pointe. She also competed in Acrobatics, Acrobatics Musical Theatre, Lyrical Hip Hop, and much more. Top soloists at major competitions such as International Dance Challenge, Showstoppers 56-7-8 Showtime, Flash Dance, Dance, Dance, Dance which were all given to Ashley.
